Good vocal mic For Metalcore/Post Hardcore

Basically I'm looking to get into home recording but i wanna do a lot of research first. I want a mic that can handle screams and still have good quality for cleans. My problem was mainly finding a good clean vocal mic, everything ive used in the past has sounded just empty, im looking for something with a little more punch to it, and for under $500

SM7b is great.. Just make sure you have a Pre with decent gain..

Hands down, go for the sm7b. I could not be any happier with it.
I'm hoping to get on a decent preamp though.

Y'all must think he's making some pretty wimpy metalcore/post hardcore to require a super special preamp for SM7 vocals...

I used a Shure Super55 once for a live metal show I was doing once.

Me and the singer both liked it because when he cupped it (as metal heads so often do) it didn't change the pick up pattern drastically. Or at least I didn't notice during the set.
