and due to three people IMing me with the same question already:

the dual 15" Apple ADCs and Mackie control x 16 faders are coming after two more albums, also my purple mc-76 and hopefully - also buildiing a new live rack around the new 2408 mk3 and making a fully elco patched 24 track 24/96 DP3 rig on a dual-1ghz, rack mounted 15" ADCs, a racked mackie control, and much more - it's a ****in project and a half - dig the pic that shows more and let me see yours too (works with chicks, yet they show me theirs first usually)

This pic doesn't show some of my new toys like the A80, rack of effects or the DAW (which now resides over the center of the console) but it's in my basement. I've also added a few more lava lamps.

This picture is over a year old - lots of new gear - but the studio still looks basically the same. It's not really in the basement, but....

is there a sub catagory for whacky ornaments?

There are some very sinister miniature stick men playing trumpets out there.. Watch out!

is the prize a day above ground in the sun?

Is the winner provided with sunglasses and a 'guide' for 'the upper world'?

Hey - Mats is from Sweden - aren't you supposed to forgive the presence of a pod when used by Scandinavians? Besides - he's got two of them - stereo!

Do we get points docked for not having a lava lamp?

Not like I'm very old fashioned, or old for that matter, but I have a hard time with a studio with no console. It just doesnt feel right.

I need to figure out a way how to get some pictures on here. I'll have to get some scanned in the next couple days. Time to hide the dfegad Pod.

Seriously though, I cant live without my POD for doing weird stuff to drums and bass mults. Sounds better then most distortion pedals for what i need it to do. Maybe when I get my new room I'll invest in a couple reamps and have a couple guitar amps in an isolation booth for mixdown, but until then its off to the POD.

I bought a Johnson J-Station with the intentions of using it for mixing on drums and vocals and stuff but I just never did. I ended up selling it after using it two or three times in a year.

Well... them Pods... they are great to give synths and stuff some sparkle, also very useful when trying out ideas. And I honestly think of the Bass Pod as much better than the red pod.

Anyways, I did dot intend to participate in this contest (as I'm not operating a basement studio really, this facility is actually quite busy). I just thought it could be cool to show you where I'm at when not posting at Gearslutz.

So, enjoy the picture, but please don't cast your vote my way.

You guys are so cool, it feels just like we are work buddies.

/Mats

Zoom 9000: ...Oh, the horror....

I remember that one. A true turd, an ugly fore runner to the Funky-Logic stuff IMO. And very expensive as new. Please accept my condolences.

Wish I had taken pictures of my previous studio ...; that one was in a basement. I loved it .... at some point I started mounting gear racks in the small recording room ....; that's when it was time to look for something bigger.

I still miss the place

fols, as we all know - there is no right or wrong or best or worst - i am just looking for a cool combination of layout, vibe, and perhaps wacky characters playing trumpet on your monitors

anyways, rather than get onto a n amp simulator thread - let me make up some other cool not so official rules

1) hot chick in the picture = 5 bonus points

2) hot chick in the picture holding a sm-57 = 10 bonus points

3) someone playing pool in your studio = negative 5 points

4) any piece of gear that is home-brew for your setup = an extra point

5) any piece of furniture that makes it all come together = 5 points

I think you guys get the picutre, this is about making the most of what you got, now show me more dang pictures!

Jules, that's too damned classy to be a basement studio. Truly sick. Are the books real, or is it a facade like I've seen in prefab "Irish pubs" that show up in the states? I get the studio name now.

There are two steps down from ground level to get into my place, it has no windows. The books & pannels are fake. You can just make out the hidden door on the left of the book wall, that's for the loo. The couch acts as a bass trap.
