Should I get a Korg Microkontrol?

Should I get a used Korg Microkontrol? They are cheap these days on eBay. They also work with Abelton and GB on the ipad. I also like the small form factor, drum pads and knobs, and retro looks.

My concern is that the Microkontrol is discontinued, so this piece of hardware may not be supported in all daws somewhere down the line. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Yea, that's the chance you take for buying something that is discontinued. So i would way out the pro and cons and make a decision you think is best for you.

If you don't have a problem of it not working in windows 8 or 9, then get it, but keep in mind you'll need to get something else down the road.

If it was me, I would not get something like that, if its discontinued. I'm always upgrading to the latest windows and software programs. so i need something that is supported.
but you may be different.

I'm a mac user so I'm not that concerned with Windows compatability issues. I probably won't even upgrade my Ableton for at least a year or so.

My problem is I want a small form factor - 25 key - controller with drum pads and knobs for mixing. I did a little bit of research and the other big alternative would be Akai MPK25 - which looks nice, but would be slightly more expensive, but that's not a big deal. I might be able to get a Microkontrol really cheap though, and I've just always wanted one.

Well just way the pros and cons of both controllers and decide. Thats the only way to do it. Or you can flip a coin. That works also
