Anyone Think The RE320 Is Good For Vocals?

http://soundcloud.com/dreamcaseal/re-series

Here is an audio test i made a few months ago compiled together. i found the RE320 to be pretty bassy and muffled in comparison to even the sm57 but then again i talked a little off axis and farther away since it doesnt have a pop filter. To be honest when i had the RE320 I ended up wanting to sell it because I couldnt use it for live use because it wasnt pre EQ'd and i had to use software after recording. i almost never use my mics for live use but that was my excuse. Just curious if anyone actually finds the RE320 good for vocals. it retails for 199 bucks every now and then and its scoop switch is useless to me. it has proximity effect. to an extent i think its a glorified sm57 with a very good pop filter and picks up a little more detail since i later found the re20 to be too airy sounding im starting to think possibly that the re320 was better for me with proper software eq.

Dreamcaseal, please make a decision and stand by it. It is getting frustrating reading about your decision making processes on several of these threads.

So just get the RE20 already. I personally think it sucks on my vocals in comparison to the SM7b, but that's just me and my stupid opinion.

i was ocd for a few weeks buying nothing but colored mics that roll off the base and are bright and even sound like they have already gone through a compressor. i think those are better for spoken word and thats it. i didnt think about that
