Shure A50D Drum Mic Clamps

Just wondering if anyone has any experience recording drums using the Shure A50D mic clamps? I'm thinking of buying a few for snare & toms as a handy way to save space by reducing the number of mic stands around the kit - my only concern is that the convenience might be offset by whatever vibrations and noise they may pick up off the rims. Can anyone advise?

No one??? Is this topic not sexy enough for a response? Perhaps I should have called it "which budget drum mic clamp should I buy for under £1000?"

I use a cheapo eBay clip on my snare and have not noticed any noise with a 57 compared to a stand but did on the rack tom, but it didn't fit right. Others would tell you differently though.

Awesome. Thanks, gravyface - good to know someone else is using them for recording. I've just discovered the K&M clamps which seem to be of better quality and cheaper, so might take the plunge...
