Amek TAC B2 Power Supply

I have a Amek TAC B2 16x4x2. The power supply kept blowing fuses and my local tech would fix it then it would happen a week latter. I havent taken it back to the tech yet, but wondering if there is any info out here. The power supply is a tac 350.
Also, Im purchasing a B2 10x4x2 board and the power supply is a TAC 250.
Could I use the 250 for the 16x4x2 board instead? thank in advance

Hi
First off you need a tech who can actually FIX things. If it blows fuses then it is still faulty.
Secondly a 250 supply will not be happy with a 16/4/2, certainly not in the long term.
The 2 supplies are essentially the same but the 350 has extra power transistors, a larger mains transformer and a fan, in comparison to the 250.
You could conceivably 'uprate' a 250 to 350 by adding the extra components, replacing the transformer and adding the fan as the circuit board is the same, but it is probably easier and cheaper to get a whole new supply. These desks need plus and minus 17.5 Volts (16 - 18 acceptable) and 48 Volts for 'phantom'. This is similar to many alternative desk manufacturers.

Thanks allot Matt...I had a feeling it wouldnt work...I'll just try and get a tech to fix the 350 power supply correctly. Hopefully its not the mixing board that is causing the problem.
