I'm very happy with my Oz Audio Qmix HM-6... There's a main stereo mix and 4 "injection" channels for customizing individual mixes. Almost every band that I've worked with has commented positively toward it's sound and it's been rock solid since I bought it two years ago. $250...

I saw that Mackie was coming out with a new one for $150.00 I've been using a Rane HC6 for about 15 years and it just keeps on going.

I did borrow my friends behringer once to check out. I wasn't impressed

That little Mackie thing with the magnetic labels looks like it could be ok. I'd like to hear if anyone's checked it out too.

Didn't someone post that the Oz licenced their unit to Mackie, or that Mackie bought Oz or something

They are eerily similar.

I own one, it won't change your life sonically but as far as being a stand alone mixer? It's awesome. Even has an FX send on it, you can plug in a little Microverb or something and dial some verb in for singers, on snare, etc. The sound is beyond acceptable, but certainly not miles above other inexpensive hp amps.

I don't know about you guys, but adding a little HF shelf boost while cutting a little LF can do wonders for clarity in any headphone mix.

i think it's Mackie HMX, right ?

there's a HMX 54 which is 4-channels ($150)
and a HMX 56 which is 6-channels + EQ + FX Loop ($240)

warren says they won't change your life sonically, but coming from one of the Bringer's it will definitely be a positive difference! your clients won't know it, but their ears will be grateful.

I bought the HMX56, the mixer style headphone amp with 6 amps on board.

I had a Symetric headphone box for about 12 years, that little thing rocked. I think it was a 206, but it looks like now they have the 304. Really well built and always sounded great.

If you can justify the jump look at the Aviom systems. That's what I upgraded to and I couldn't be happier.
