Focal CMS65 front dial: gain or input trim?

I looked at them when I was monitor-shopping a while back. I think its likely an input trim before the amps but I can't be positive. I went with the Solo6 Be's and their adjustment is labelled trim as well.

It's an input trim - so at maximum, it's a 0dB and at the minimum, it's at -66db

Any chance that Focal will come out with CMS Twin in the future? I really like the cast metal enclosures of my CMS65
