Focusrite scarlet 2i2 vs audiobox 22vsl or mixer as audio interface

Wich is better? Exept the Scarlett doesn't have a midi I/o
What the midi I/o use for?

Or a mixer like the alesis multimix 6
MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 Integrated USB 2.0 audio interface and mixer
that also use as an audio interface and I'll have the mixer options
Or it's not recommended

Thank u

MIDI is the connection between MIDI instruments and your interface. You connect for example your keyboard to the interface and the signal is sent into your pc through USB. If you only have usb midi instruments, you do not need midi i/o

For the interface just think about how many inputs you will require.
Also, I am using a cheap little mixer myself (Behringer Xenyx 802) and I realized I never use the panning or EQ options, I do all that on my computer which is why I am planning on buying an interface now. So if you don't think you'll use these options, buy an interface.

If you are sure you will only use the inputs and outputs and don't really require extra feutures, then buy an audio interface, it is much more compact.

From what I have heard, the Focusrite Scarlett series are great, I was looking into the Scarlett 2i2 myself, and a lot of people recommend it because of it's solid built casing and great preamps.

Some other suggestions for interfaces with 2 inputs in the same price range as the scarlett 2i2:
- Presonus Audiobox USB
- Tascam US 122/US 144
- M-audio Mobile Pre

But I think Scarlett comes out as the best choice.

Good luck choosing your interface!

thank u!
so the only problem with mixers is their size?
they can be with the same recording quality with an interface?

No problem!
They can be of the same quality, but from what I see on the internet, it is easier to find cheap good quality interfaces than cheap good quality mixers.
Hope that helps!

Alesis multimix lets you track each channel in the mixer separately in your DAW, AFAIK. That is nice. The question is how many channels do you plan on recording simultaneously. If 1 or 2, you don't really need the mixer. Focusrite would probably give you a nicer sound than the Alesis, but do you also care about that, and how much? Etc, etc. It all depends on your needs. If you are unsure, get the focusrite, and you will discover along the way. Music gear requires a lot of buying and selling before you know what you need and what suits you best.
