What is the best USB Amp for HD650 headphones ?

hi guys

I have the HD650 headphones , which I am connecting directly to the headphone jack of my laptop .

Well the laptop headphone jack is becoming very loose and I always have to mess around with various positions or else no sound will come out ( I am sure you know the drill ) .

all of this as got me thinking whether I should fix the laptop headphone jack or simply get myself an external Amp ?

I was inclined to purchase an USB-powered amp if there were solid options without killing my pockets .

-usb powered
-small / discreet
-good for use with the HD650
-if possible under $300-$200

btw I use the HD650 for mastering so also important that it is a neutral / clean amp .

Any suggestions/thoughts ?

much appreciated
thanks

ODAC+Objective2 perhaps?

The Headfi forums seem quite split on how "fun sounding" it is, but everyone seems to agree that its extremely plain and transparent so maybe it will suit mixing.

I would not mix anything using a 16 bit soundcard in a laptop.
That's why they make 24 bit external
Interfaces.....they are better.
Monitor from an interface.

I wouldn't use the VRM for the 650's. Its amp is not terribly strong, and they're pretty power-hungry.

The CEntrance DACport is considered is a really good match for the 650's, but it's $400.

I recently started using a Mackie Onyx Blackjack and have been extremely surprised at the quality and power of the headphone amp. It's not tiny, sadly, but it's not too bad.
