Suggestions for the iMac Interfaces?

Hi Everybody!

I need some help picking out the right interface since I'm new to recording. I'm looking to buy an audio interface for iMac that i would be able to plug in 2 studio monitors (KRK Rokit8), a microphone that needs phantom power (MXL4000), and a MIDI keyboard (mpk49), although the MIDI keyboard I can plug in straight into USB port. I would be using this with Ableton. The iMac also has thunderbolt port, but my guess the interfaces with thunderbolt would be out of my 150-250$ reach. Any suggestions?

Do a search, or use Google to give you a head start. There are oodles of products that can do what you need within your budget, and most have been discussed and recommended many times here and elsewhere.

Good luck.

Focusrite Saffire low-end audio interfaces might be what you want, has MIDI and multiple outs as well as phantom power for mics. Thunderbolt, few such units out today, will cost a lot and you don't need that kind of bandwidth for a project studio.
