Question Cheap way to add 8 ins/outs to my Fireface 400?

I use a Fireface 400 for most of my recordings, but I need to add 8 ins and 8 outs to the interface through the optical ports. The inputs don't necessarily need to have preamps, as they will be used solely for synth inputs and to insert outboard compressors.

Any cheap recommendations?

You have ADAT in/out on that unit, so the least expensive (and definitely worthwhile) way to add 8 in/out is this: Behringer: ULTRAGAIN PRO-8 DIGITAL ADA8000

You can find these used for around $125 or new for around $225.

Thanks for the advice - I did some poking around reading reviews, and ended up grabbing an ADA8000. It's working out great so far!
