Alesis Multimix FW vs Phonic Helix FW

Guys..
ive read some reviews about people complaining the Alesis' driver doesnt work. while Phonic, on the other side is cheaper, more-features and got higher-resolutions compared to Alesis'.
i really need to know about these;
1. the quality of the pres
2. quality of the ADA converters (phonic got 96khz, while alesis only 48).
I know some of you might ask to buy audio interface instead, but i dont have much money to spend. so ive figured out that mixer with FW is the cheapest option. pls help me. thanks.

I asked before, and got no response. I'd like to know too, because I think a Helix 24 FW could be a decent PA board (although I'm sure it wouldn't be as nice as an Allen & Heath Mix Wiz), that could allow for fairly simple simultaneous multitrack recording.

i don't have experience with these units, but i have seen that alesis also makes the io firewire mixer series that doesn't have integrated effects, but the sample rates go up to 192 khz. musicians friend doesn't carry them-- only offering the multimix series instead.
