Quick balanced insert question

Hello,all!
I have a aux mono send that I'm sending to an efx unit. I purchased unbalanced insert cables and noticed that balanced are also available but found out after I got home. Is this the reason why my efx unit is only showing one input channel and not two? Thanks for your help, Jeff

If I understand correctly, the reason your FX unit is only showing one input signal is because you're using a mono send. Balanced vs. unbalanced wouldn't be the issue in this case. Most insert cables are "unbalanced" (stereo to 2 mono which are send & return). Good luck!

Ok, got it Mr. June. I thought that maybe the balanced cables sent out a duel mono signal but as both males are plugged into both inputs on the efx. Should have bought a mixer with stereo aux sends I guess!

not at all, just use 2 sends!
ie aux 1 to the left in, aux 2 to the right input.

+1 for using two aux sends if you need stereo input. That being said... I use FX units mono in / stereo out all the time. Just depends what you're trying to do.

Thanks you both for clarifying. I have used both auxs and have a very nice stereo setup! BTW I can't believe the quality of the mpx200! And at 150.00 with the rebate it's a steal too. Take care, Jeff
