Cheap diy tube mic preamp

Hey guys!
I'm a the owner of an m-audio profire 2626.
I do like the preamps on my unit. bright crisp sound,
BUT, I would like to have something nicely coloured!
something TUUBY!

Since i should be buying new mics instead of preamps I would love to get my hands on an easy schematic of a cheap warm tube-ish mic pre to colour my sound. Ofcourse cheap with big sound would be awesome
(-€100)
Anyone out there that can help?

Ps: I live in Belgium (europe) so ordering tube micpre kits from the usa is no option:/

How cheap are you thinking? It's hard to do tube gear cheap because of the transformers needed for the plate voltages.

If you do a little searching for the "Gyraf G9" or "NYDave One Bottle" you'll find some DIY projects. To me, they aren't cheap DIY projects, but no tube projects are cheap.

HI Koolaiddrinker!
Thank you for answering my question! Anything under +-€$100 would be fine, little more isn't an issue, but I would like to get bang for buck though!
Humming €140 valve preamp wouldn't be cool:/

Don't dare it yet though, my soldering skills arent up to possibly ruining $300.
But when my first mic pre is build i'm ordering one of those!
