Turntable only setup

Hello! First post after ages of reading this forum

I'm trying to build a vinyl listening setup in my living room, but I've run into a slight problem and I'm sure someone here will be able to help me out....

The design of the living room is fairly minimalistic and I want the least visible hardware as possible, only showing the speakers and the turntable itself.

It's a Stanton T.60 I used to use for sampling and scratching years ago. I'm looking for an amp to connect it directly to the speakers. I would like the amp to be as small as possible, and with a simple volume control (ideally with a remote). Does such a device exist? I've been looking but I can only seem to find either preamps which output RCA line signals but with no volume control or big Hifi centres... I just want a small box with Phono In and speaker connections on the other side and a simple volume control.

Suggestions for small to medium speakers (Standing on waist height stands) are also welcome

Budget is not massive but I don't want the bottom bottom line either

Thank you!!

The Pro-Ject Stereo Box S seems to be close to what you might want. Small design, IR remote, minimalistic, low price (EUR 250). Unfortunately, you'll need an additional phono pre, what I did not expect from a turntable maker like Pro-Ject. But you might be able hide the pre somewhere.

For small speakers, I liked the KEF Q300's when I checked them at the store, but went for larger speakers (Monitor Audio RX6), which are great. Maybe their smaller offerings like the RX1 / RX2 are worth checking out.

PS: I found the Rega Brio-R which better matches to your needs as includes a phone pre, but has a higher price tag (EUR 680).

Pick your speakers first. That will tell you roughly how much power you'll need to drive them. Then find an integrated amp that has a phono section and enough power for your speakers and you're all set. You gotta figure out your budget too...

And don't forget the always-available super-cheapie front end: the Advent 300 receiver from 1976 is almost always on ebay for $75 or so, and has a remarkedly good phono section. Get one, replace its few electrolytic caps (real easy job - google it) and you've got a preamp with phono that you can always use. It has a tuner and other knobs you don't need... so don't use them. Whenever my esoteric gear farts and needs attention, the Advent receiver comes out to replace what's ailing, and it's always listenable. Bonus: it looks cool.

You could go pre-amp / power amp, and hide the power amp. Audiophile pre-amps are usually pretty minimal.

Or you could replace the whole thing with a vintage Bang & Olufsen system.

Those vintage B&O's are a pita to fix, but they sure are lookers? Arn't they?

The issue you are going to run into is that very few integrated amps and receivers have a built in phonostage anymore, at least at the general consumer level. If you start getting into the upper end audiophile stuff you can get very minimal integrated amps (musical fidelity springs to mind, mostly because that is what I use). If you are willing to go used, you should be able to find a high quality integrated with a remote and phono stage for $400-600.

Get a used Mission Cyrus? No remote, though (I assume).
