| good small mixer for live use?
I'm looking for a small mixer to use on stage in my live setup, and hoping you good folk could give me some advice. I bought an Allen & Heath zed14 (which is great, btw), however it's much larger than I'd expected and isn't practical for me to take to gigs, so I'm thinking I'll keep the A&H at home and get something smaller and more basic for out and about.
I mostly do solo live looping shows, where I need a minimum of at least 2 mic inputs, a line input, an rca input and and one or two AUX send channel so I can run all the inputs through some effects units, however something with an extra couple of inputs for potential future expansion would be good. On board effects could be nice, but definitely not essential. That's all the requirements I can think of right now! USB compatibility is pretty important, if not absolutely crucial.
Since it's for live use, I need something super reliable and that can handle a bit of roughing it on the road, and while I it should have clean sound, it doesn't have to be top line.
I know cheap mixers can be a bad idea, and the 'make a worthy investment' argument is a valid one, but given how well the A&H works at home, this is definitely a 'supplementary mixer' purchase so I don't really want to fork over too much! Something for less than 300 US would be great.
Anyone have any good suggestions??
