Using a Home Audio Amp to Drive my Auratones

Hey all,

I am trying to kill two birds with one stone here.

The amp that I use to drive my Auratone 5C's is on its way out (dying) and I am looking for a replacement.

I am looking at an old Yamaha A-420 (home audio) to replace it, because I have a nice set of JBL speakers for a third set of Home Audio style play back, to check mixes and to switch too when the Genelecs get harsh. I would hook these up and the Auratones and switch between channels A/B.

What is the general opinion here? I of the mindset that Auratones are not fussy... but I could be very wrong.

Thanks in Advance.

I use an older Radio Shack stereo reciever to power my Auratones. It works great for checking mixes, mixing MP3's, etc.

Hey Mark, thanks for that.

Given the nature of the boxes, I just can imagine them to be too fussy?

right on! when it comes to horror-tones, the more lo-fi the better. To me that is the whole point. If the kick and bass come thru on the cube, your good

Yeah, that is the point. I want to hear what my mixes sound like on a cheap stereo system. Running the Auratones with an inexpensive stereo reciever accomplishes that goal.
