trouble connecting benchmark dac 1 to mbox 2

I was wondering if you could help me out hooking up the dac1, finally got around to hooking everything back up today.plugged the dac1 in via spdif cable from the mbox 2 spdif output to the dac1 input and nothing, it is not showing up in my i/o setup. the blue and red light are on, on the front of the benchmark. have the little switch switched up to coaxial, and nothing. any thoughts ideas.

thanks

im also curious on how to hook a benchmark dac to my mbox2.

im planning on getting one to bypass my mbox2 convtrs.

im using a api a2d for my a/d and preamp..

from what i read the benchmark has optical spdif
and the mbox2 has coax.. how can you marry the two ?/
?/

Afraid I don't know about the dac-1 or mbox2 but I have two pieces of gear with spdif where one is coax and the other optical.
You can buy little converter boxes for about €20-€30 each and you need two -one with coax in and optical out and the other optical in and coax out.
They also have adaptors to power them, they work without any problem whatsoever.

I don't have either unit...But How would an outboard unit possible show up in the software I/O?

Sounds like you have it hooked up right..But have you told your main out 1+2 to use Spidif?

At that point I would think it would then send it out to the DAC-1.
