Alesis Micro Limiter - your settings!

One of these just arrived and I'm loving it as a parallel drum comp, really trashy but nice and thick sounding too. Just thought I'd ask if anyone else who has this cheapo unit has found any other great tricks? For parallel drum comp I'm sitting the release at the fastest setting and input around 3-4 o' clock, but I'd love for people to share a few settings if they use it for anything else.

I wouldnt worry about what other people are setting the settings to. Its pointless! Each instrument will need a different settings in order for it to fit in the song at hand. Eac h song is different. I never used the same settings dfor anything as what works for one song will not work for the next song.

There are so many varialbes that go into determining the release settings and the other settings. Your ears will tell you the right setting, not a stranger who doesnt have acess to your tracks and song.

I really like mine. It's a bit noisy, but eh, what's some noise as long as the music is good? Couldn't tell you any settings though, I just tweak it 'til it sounds right.

I have a pair that I scored for a total of 40 bucks.
Probably the most useful 40 bucks I've ever spent on gear!

I love these things.

Trick settings? My trick is plugging them into the signal path.
Almost always in parallel.

Twist the release knob until it sounds right... done.

Hahaha, you're all definitely right that it's pointless sharing settings. I am loving this unit though, especially for the price.
