Adat optical input computer soundcards

Hey!

I am buying a Focusrite OctoPre and now i need a Adat optical I/O card...
...btw: I want a cheaper card than RME hdsp 9236 ... if there is one?!

Which cards are cheaper... i don't know any!

A second hand RME!

I'd go for the emu 1212

be careful, if you want to have sampling frequencies above 48k (assuming the octopre can do that?) make SURE that your interface can support smux for however many channles you want. eg. if you want 8 channels at 96k the card will have to have TWO adat ins (and probably TWO adat outs). The emu does SMUX but onlny has 1 input, hence only 4 channels at 96k or 2 channels at 192k

I think if you want above 48k sampling rate, you may hav to go the RME route (or lynx or motu (both expensive))
