This stuff has nothing in common with the original focusrite gear. There's about 10 bucks worth of Chinese parts inside that thing. Not saying it sucks, just sayin it is not an ISA 110.

Well, there's at least a Swedish made Lundahl transformer in it. And it's called ISA One, not 110, so why saying it's not an ISA 110 when that's already obvious from the model name?

Did you actually use the ISA One? I have two of these units and think they sound very good. Not just for the money. I have Neve, Universal Audio, SPL, Forssell, Lake People, True Systems and Sound Devices boxes too, so it's not that I don't have experience with other good preamps. The Focusrites hold themselves up very well against those, with a very nice sound of their own. They seem to be very well built too. (I always open up new equipment and I saw nothing wrong inside these.) In what way does the newer Focusrite stuff not come close to the old?

Actually, it has the same transformer, same opamps and same zobel network. The 110 preamp section was never that expensive to make without the eq. Not tried the new ones but there is no reason why it should sound that different.

The 110 has a output transformer that isaone does not have. The output transformer has very special feedback circuit that the new ripoff does not have. The isaone might be a good preamp but shame on focusrite fooling their customers to believe it has anything to do with Neve design.

Hi guys,
I have heard a positive answer to this question but just wanted to confirm if anyone would be so kind:
- Is the Di XLR out on the ISA ONE at line level (ready to record) or at mic level (to be sent to a preamp)?

THe focusrite site has the following in the outputs list:
1X XLR balanced line out
1X XLR DI out.

Although info I got and am trying to confirm is that they are both at line level.
Thanks in advance

Yea the Di out is in fact xlr!

Both mic and Di can be used at the same time.

It seems to work fine but I don't know if I'm loosing something doing that. I don't have the digital card so is the send out the same as the line? thanks
Have you figured out your problem? If not just buy an XLR female to TRS male cable. No adapters. It will work, I'm fairly certain of it.
