Thread Starter | Fireface800 vs RME ADI 8
I doubt I would get a straight answer from RME. Is it a no brainer the ADI has better convertors or might these two actually be similar/close? If I have an ADI + 96/52 but wanted a rig that was also mobile, would going Fireface be a "downgrade" in convertor/audio quality?

I have both and I believe the converters are the same. BUT the ADI-8 doesn't have Firewire. So you'd either have to go with ADAT or T/Dif I/O.

i have also both since the weekend and did some quick comparison between the both, actually found them different sounding but couldn't say which is better? thought the fireface was more clear in the highs and the adi 8 pro a bit rounder and warmer in the bass, but i don't have the ds version, don't know if thats different. could also be because the ff clocked the adi? aves |
