recording hardware into a soundcard with mixer inbetween

Right now im recording all my hardware synths into my pc, track by track(no full duplex) but i have a Allen & Heath mixer in between. When i want to record a certain track i just solo that channel on my mixing console and record it into my pc.

My question is,,,, does the mixing desk in between the pc and the hardware hurt my overall sound??

Would a direct connection between my hardware synths into my ad converters improve the soundquality drasticaly????

peace

How are your ears?

The mixer may add something you like.

i like to track my DX7 through my old Studiomaster with some
outboard FX like SPX90 chorus to thicken things up.

Experiment.

Wel you know, when recording 8 to 9 tracks there could be a cummulative effect of adding noise and distortion wich you can not hear when only recording 1 track.

It will be such a hassle to record everything into my pc directly to experiment, that it would be nice if someone can shine some light on this.
