help me hook up my rosetta to my profire 2626 using adat / outboard preamps

i thought it would be easy to leave everything connected to the profire, and just using adat cable and thats all. but someone told me about the dsub cables and the audio out from the rosetta and thats where i got all confused

i'm running a 27 inch imac i7, 8 gb ram and my main interface is the m-audio profire 2626

they way my outboard preamps are hooked up is XLR Out to 1/4 line in into my Profire 2626 for inputs 1-4

input 1 - Avalon VT 737sp

input 2 - ART Pro Channel

input 3,4 - ART MPA Gold

for inputs 5-8 i use the onboard preamps from the profire.

i also use a presonus digimax via adat, to get an additional 8 inputs, but my profire can go up to 26 inputs (2 adat ins and outs)

i am eyeing a rosetta 800 192, (i record in 44.1) but before i pull the trigger i wanna make sure i understand how to hook this up. i tried looking thru the user guide online, but im a little lost when it comes getting the output sound from the rosetta hooked up the right way.

from what i read i will need a presonus central station, or a mackie big knob, i use the presonus monitor station, i should be okay with this right?

and i guess i need 2 dsub cables? female xlr for the input channels and male xlr for outputting back to my profire? (or should i use 1/4 for output line in?)

but where does the sound come from to go to my monitor station? somebody told me that instead of using the sound coming from my profire, i use the sound coming from the rosetta. is this right? where are the 1/4 outs?

so after hooking up everything to the dsub cables, i also have to do adat out, from the rosetta, to adat in 1-8 to my profire, and thats all right? or am i missing something else?

Hi
I'm using the same gear : Profire 2626 & Rosetta 200. Please let me know how to hook them up. I'm getting hard time to understand how to connect them. I connected both via ADAT A in & out. But what about the Output signal ? How do I monitor it ? Should I use the analog outputs from the Rosetta or the ones from the Profire to feed the stereo out signal to my mixer ?
Many thanks !

Use the Rosetta.

Also to answer the earlier post. No the Monitor Station will not work as it is -10 operating level, where as the rosetta passes signal at +4. You will be constantly clipping the monitor station.

Yes use dsub cables!! Then connect your pres . Also FireWire from Rosetta 800 .. Not sure of comparability issues. Do you have a FireWire card in Rosetta 800. Check with apogee about software versions of daw, OS and the Rosetta .. They usually are pretty helpful. Mogami dsubs if you can
