| Gear interested | Just need a mixer to control levels and panning!
Hey everyone. I understand this is a really basic question, but it's so vague that I'm having trouble finding the right solutions myself. Long story short, I just got a Presonus Firepod FP10. Now that I have the interface, I just want a mixer that will allow me to adjust levels and panning in Cubase (without having to use the on-screen mixer). I don't need a board that has an interface built in, just a low-cost solution to be able to mix on tactile hardware. Thanks in advance! |

Not sure what you mean but maybe something like this? To control your DAW? ![]() |

warning: no controller that i have used feels like a console. Controllers will do the job just fine, but it is a different experience. i thought that I needed 24 channels, but found that in use, the bank switching format used by the smaller format controllers is a good solution, saves in size and cost.

Thank you very much Erik for showing me exactly what I'm looking for. That's exactly what I mean. Bill, thank you for the insight. I'm curious, in what sense is it different? Like I said, I really just want something to make mixing easier and faster. That said, if it it's so different that it's not worth it, I'll consider getting a full digital board. |

Ok, so I've found that these are called "control surfaces" or DAW controllers. Thank you to you both for your help. These aren't as affordable as I was expecting through. Why would I spent $800 on something that is just a control surface when I can spend $400 on a Tascam FW-1884 or something similar, which acts as both a mixer and an audio interface?

Whatever serves your needs! I use to have a console, then a DAWcontroller and finally a summing amp.
