Thread Starter | Trust me I'm a noob...
This is probably a daft question but i have a guitar pre amp and a power amp (with two channels) is it as simple as having a stereo 1/4 inch plug coming out so two cables can go from the plug into each channel of the power amp and then drive two cabinets. ?? I'm thinking yeah, but you never know lol ![]() Cheers! |

A stereo phone plug won't work, as they are TRS (tip/ring/sleeve), with the tip and the ring being the two hots (right and left) and the sleeve being the ground for both sides. The preamp has a mono output, so there would be nothing connected to the ring of the stereo plug, and only the side of the power amp plugged into the tip side of the stereo cable will receive a signal. If the power amp has two outputs per channel, simply run the preamp into channel A, and jumper the second channel A input jack to one of the channel B inputs. If the power amp has only one input per channel, use a mono Y-adapter to split the signal from the preamp. |
