Introduction to John B.

Hello Gearslutz!

My name is John B. I'm an amateur singer/songwriter from Reading Pennsylvania.

Music has been a life long passion for me and I've been writing songs for more than 30 years. It's been all for fun. Gave up on any commercial potential years ago. I enjoy listening and reviewing original songs by others with like interest and also enjoy sharing my music with others. I'm very impressed with the fact that this forum has separate areas for low end and high end users. I am a low end user. My equipment list is PC/MIDI based.

Hardware:
Dell Inspiron PC Desktop w/ Duo core processor
2.5 GHZ 3GB DDR2 SDRAM @ 800MHZ

Compaq Presario Laptop PC
Processor & memory similar to Desktop

Yamaha PSR295 digital keyboard as a MIDI controller

Peavey PVM 38 dynamic microphone

Martin D18 acoustic guitar

Software:
Samplitude Music Studio ver 14 (2008)
Mixcraft 5
Garritan Jazz & Big Band 3
Miroslav Philharmonik Orchestra Classic Edition
Cakewalk Dimension LE
Toontrack EZ Drummer
Melodyne Essentials
Various Free plugins

My style would be probably classified as Pop/Jazz.

I'm hoping to make friends here and share good independently produced music. The mainstream doesn't offer much quality nowadays for me.
