I know there’s already loads of stuff about mod’ing the MK219 on here but there’s nothing about Tube Mods.
I recently acquired a MK219 for £66.00 ($44.00) from a studio who never used it. It’s 10 year old but absolutely Mint!
As much as I like it, I would really like to mod it into a tube mic (with a Russian EF86 or maybe a Telefunken EF86 valve).
I’ve found a few websites of people who have successfully done it and have been extremely surprised at just how good it turned out to be.
Although there are some images out there of the mod, I can't find any wiring diagrams or step-by-step guides to mod’ing it this way and due to my basic electronics knowledge I can’t come up with my own circuit (I’m quite competent with a soldering iron and components but I’m not quite there with my circuit design yet).
Has anyone out there successfully done a Tube mod to the MK219 and do they have a wiring diagram, walkthrough or some high detail pictures of the mod they'd be willing to share?
