Neumann TLM 102 + Universal Audio 610 Preamp = The promised land of home recording?

I'm just curious as to what anyone on here has to say about their experiences with these two pieces of equipment grouped together. I recently picked up the UA 610 to match with my TLM 102 in the recording studio I run, and I'd just like to know what all you Gearslutz think about it.

I am highly considering the UA 610 as well. From what I have been reading it goes above and beyond 'Home Recording' in terms of quality. The "Pros" are recommending this preamp as well.

well, it will be warmer and thicker than the tlm-102 through many other preamps. if you like the tlm-102 already but think it's a little too bright, this preamp will help you out.

if you like the tlm-102 already just as is then you may NOT like what this preamp does to the sound... maybe (or maybe you will).

but this preamp does wonders for some cheaper Chinese mics, I'll tell you that :-)

and the tlm-103 which has a 4 or 5 db presence shelf increase that goes up pretty high, well that mic is often loved or hated. I love it as is. but with that preamp you will get some magic from it imho.

however some people simply dislike the tlm-103 so it's a touchy example :-)

I got good results with the TLM 103 paired with an LA-610, I imagine the TLM 102 would be better - I actually prefer its response for vocals compared to the 103.
Also, the EQ on the LA strip is very efficient if the sound is too bright or lacks low end.
