How to connect an external headphone amp to an Audio Interface?

At the moment I'm trying to connect a cheap headphone amp (that is still way more powerful than the internal amp on my Audio Interface) to my Audio Interface which is an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra.

Is there a way to connect it so at the same time the Fast Track Ultra can also be connected to the monitors?

This should be covered in the manual of your headphone amp.

You'd probably do the trick with a mini mixer.

The cheapest would be something like this:

BEHRINGER: 302USB

Thanks alot - can you tell me how the signal chain would look?

Where does the mini-mixer connect to and with what cables, and where does the headphone amp plug into?

Also, does the mini-mixer add noise into the signal chain?

For close to the cost of a small mixer you could get a headphone amp that would pass signal through to the monitors.

The Ultra has 6 analog outs and 2 headphone outs. Pick one of those and make a chain of adapters that get from the 1/4" output to the stereo 1/8" input. Then use the M-audio software mixer to manage the routing.

C&C XO2 CC XO 2 Portable Headphone AMP & 2011 version | eBay

if not, can u please go ahead and recommend some that have comparable quality to this, which are portable and dont require plugging into a wall and can be used with monitors at the same time ?

Can you take a step back and explain what you're trying to do? Unless you're recording really loud drums, I find it hard to believe that the stock headphone outputs are too quiet for normal use. Are you sure you've done proper gain staging in your DAW or control panel for the Ultra?
