Thread Starter | Best monirot placement for my room I have a regular carpeted den (drywall walls). I have the monitor height at ear leveel when sitting at desk. The monitors are about 66 inches apart. I have Tapco S-5's. How far from wall should monitors be? Currently they are about 1 inch (closest corner) to 4 inches away from wall pointed toward listener. Please help...I have no room treatments. I won't be able to traet this room for a while. My mixes sound too bassy on car/home stereo system. I have bass setting on monitor at highest leve...with "highs" set flat (middle). pease help. |

| You'll want to move away from the wall at least a foot or two. -tINY |

| Gear addict | If possible set them up to be equidistant from the side walls. Also, listen at lower volumes. If a mix is good (and exciting) at low volume it will usually translate to higher volumes. But the opposite isn't usually true. This is also a good way to minimize room involvement. When the speakers are cookin, the room will pick up the frequencies (especially the low end) and run with them. And once you get used to listening at lower volumes, your ears will thank you too! |
