Thread Starter | Turning Motu 8 pre's Optical to analog for cue's
Building a little studio and we're going to purchase 2 Motu 8pre's to give us those xtra drum inputs with the few pre-amps we have. But we're trying to figure out our Cue outputs... It has DSP cue mixing software that gives us 4 stereo outputs via optical out but what is an efficient, cheap (these are cue mixes so it doesn't need to be stellar audio quality) way to convert optical outs to analog to send to headphones...? Thanks! -A |

| The Aphex 141 will get you to analog. Of course, with 2 8pres, you'll have 4 stereo analog outputs. But routing may be a little tricky to use them all. How often will you really need more than 2 stereo or 4 mono queue mixes anyway? -tINY |

| how do i link 2 motu 896 interfaces in pro tools 9
I have 2 original Motu 896 interfaces and i want to link them now that you can use them with pro tools 9. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to link them through either firewire or optical. Ive tried both and can't figure it out. Im starting to loose my mind |

didn't work well, glitches etc. Then i tried optical and that works pretty good, as long as i use the 896 as the main board. The only downside is that i have to activate the optical connection in the device setup everytime i use my DAW. And it's not called optical in that menu but ADAT connection... oh well as long as i get the signals... Good luck | |
