Need someone to mix some songs!

I've been helping my nephew's band mix their album, because they have no budget to hire someone to do it.

There are ten songs in total. I have mixed four of them so far, one of which is already getting airplay in Philly.

The problem is I have almost no time these days because I'm extremely busy at work, and it is taking far too long for me to get these mixes done by myself.

So I'm throwing it out there to see if anyone has the time/means/desire to give a go at mixing a song or two, to see where things might lead if the mix(es) turn out well. Obviously there is no money at this stage, but hopefully some creative arrangement could be worked out between you and the band.

They tracked it themselves on a Pro Tools TDM system and other fairly decent gear which I lent them. The band can roughly be categorized in the "jam band" vein, heavily influenced by Phish, the Dead, etc.

Anyone interested please contact me on email for MP3 samples and more info.

Thanks!

If you want to mail me a CD or DVD with the PT sessions files on it/them then I am in man. I can use some mixing practice in different genres.

Wow guys! Thanks for the unexpectedly renewed interest in this thread! Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't checked the thread for a few days.

In fact there are still songs to be mixed.

I'm tied up tomorrow but will try to contact everyone individually in the next day or so to suss out the details.

You know, I'd be down just to mix something unfamiliar. For the sake of practice I guess. This opens up a good idea on here too. We could all share mixing work occasionally if we're too out of our comfort zone or would just like to practice on something different. Me personally, I've never tried to mix anything I didn't record, so that would be interesting.

Wait, I just realized this thread is four months old...

I have access to the recording studio at the Art Insititute Of Phialdelphia. We have a Solid State Logic Duality SE ($300,000 sound board) and I am trying to get some job and would do it for a very low price. Please let me know if you are interested. 11anthonymoretti@gmail.com

Regardless of how hold this thread is...

From a legality standpoint, I would be more careful about what you post on the public domain. Your name, school, and intentions are out there. Chances are you are not legally allowed to make a profit from using the studios at your school. I know I wasn't when I was in recording school.

Could you record at your school, then mix it at home and just charge for the mixes? Yes. Could you mix in your school's studio and charge for your time there? Probably not.
