You can often find new pairs of HS80M for $500USD unless you have the cash to throw down on some Focals or Sonodynes they are probably the best option money can buy.

The HS80M imho does a much better job than the MR5 or the HS50.

I love the 80 and hate the 50.

And well I just never got in with mackies studio monitors, the live sound speakers aren't too shabby I own some of their thumps for playing coffee shops and small venues for a budget active speaker they aren't the best or the worst but they were a substantial improvement vs the other options I could afford at the time.

Perhaps you should try contacting a company with better service to assist in your needs I've always had great luck with Warren at ZenProAudio and with Nick at Sweetwater. I'm pretty sure both of them do intl shipping and would likely carry something within your budget.

I wasn't sure where you were located as it didn't list your location so I was just trying to think of companies that have trained staffs that can make good suggestions/advice because of real world use and training using the products vs a big box store with a comission based salesman that really doesn't know anything.

You should have decent stores/distribution though.

We used to use MSP5 and I wasn't a fan, haven't tried the 7's but a lot of people rave about them.

I don't know that I'd judge them based on the 5's though as I love the HS80 and hate the HS50.

Monitors are a very personal thing it's really a trial and error thing finding what you like and what works well in your particular environment.

I also found some HS80 used now, i think you convinced me... i'll probably take those and try it. The price is low enough and i need some monitors anyways, i think i have time to experience other monitors in the future, and knowing that these ones at least work and some people like it is enough for now.

buying used is always the smartest option because if you keep it you saved money and if you flip it you are less likely to lose
