Hey there. I'm currently using a Delta1010 and monitoring with KRK Rokit Powered 5s. Are you sure your Rokit 8s have SPDIF in? There are RCA (phono) sockets on these monitors but according to the manual they are for unbalanced analog not digital. I think the converters on the Delta are very nice and so taking a balanced analog signal from outputs 1 and 2 (which can be fed from the Delta's internal mixer) straight into the speaker will give you the cleanest possible signal path. The only problem then is level control. If you don't need any kind of fancy options then a passive monitor contoller will give you the cleanest signal path. I use NHT's PVC (Passive Volume Controller). Your other option is to take the SPDIF O/P from the Delta and feed it to an alternative D/A converter, and then have that feed the KRKs via balanced analog. I'm not sure why you would want or need to use a DAT recorder, unless you were simply using it as a D/A converter. Hope this helps, Dunc. |
