Thread Starter | AI-3, how can I tell if it's 24-bit
Strange post I know... I'm gathering up some gear I don't use anymore to sell, and as I was researching the AI-3 prices, it seemed there was a 20-bit version and a 24-bit version. Anyone know how I can tell which mine is? It's been at least a couple years now since I've make music, and I just don't remember. Any help appreciated! - P |

Hook it up and download the Schwa Bitter VST. That should give you an answer on the input word-length.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I have no computer music gear left to do that kind of test. Was hoping there was some other type of indicator on the box. Serials... Other design clues... Anyone else know? - p |

| Anyone try Alesis AI-3 (8-channel A/D D/A) - Page 2 - AudioBanter The best way to find out is to open it up and look at the AD/DA's. If yours has the Crystal Semiconductor CS4220-KS chips, it's 24 bit. |

If it's 24-bit, I might be interested in taking it off your hands! Thanks, Chris
