Thread Starter | instead of a zed r16...
Hi, Instead of buying a zed r16, what mixer + interface(s) would you recommend. Goal is 16 (or more) channels of mixer + computer recording so that I can record all 16 channels at once. R16 looks good but not perfect for me - wondering if I could roll my own similar solution. Recommendations? Thanks!

price range (for both mixer and interface)? A Midas Venice with direct outs pre fader mod would be super slutty

I keep looking at the Mackie 1640 Firewire mixer. It seems to be quite a bit cheaper than the Presonus and the A & H Zed units. I wonder if anyone knows how they sound in comparison to the others?

I'm very happy with my Mackie 1640i, especially for the price. But I don't have any experience with the others. -Kirk |
