Hey guys, Recently I discovered AAMS (Auto Audio Mastering System). This standalone software-tool claims to be able to master a wave-file with a single click (based on a reference). I tested it out (you can get a 21-days free trial at http://www.curioza.com) and it works extremely well! It can lift your track, correct some eq-mistakes you made or add depth and body to a source. And... it's verrrrry cheap! Check www.curioza.com for more info and the free trial....

I wish I had a windows DAW! Imagine the fun you could have spoofing it. I would like to try one-click mastering a Death Metal band using an Alison Krauss CD as the Reference File, for example. C'mon somebody download the demo and do it! Post the MP3's Seriously- some of the analysis graphs look like they might prove to be useful in an educational way, if not in a "The Computer Will Do Your Mastering For You Now" way.

| The concept doesn't seem to be the way good mastering is achieved ![]()

The day this post came out, I had some time on my hands and downloaded the program, threw one of my unmastered files at it and... it spit it back at me. Why? It doesn't take anything higher than 44.1k 16bit after laughing hystarically for about 3 seconds, I closed the program and went about my day.

Yeah, this program is interesting, er, hmmm....if only all this auto stuff would work, life would be so easy.... the 16bit thing is a deal breaker, although you can take the suggestions and apply them using other plugins to your non 16 bit file.... there are a lot of the analyze the EQ and match prorams...Free Filter, Firium, Voxengo's, Har-Bal... but one gets the feeling this is an especially elaborate ruse...I mean above and beyond the idea that you can automatically master something or match one song to another... Has anyone put this through it's paces? I have a little, haven't really had time...it takes forever to analyze a file (is that a clever part of the ruse? wow, this thing really analyzes my crappy mix good!) ...

This shit's been around for like the past five years ... only under different names. The only way something like this could even be remortely useful is if you record and mix the exact same song ... the exact same way as the original. ![]() Think about it. If it were that easy, then ME's could just use presets for every client. The very concept is an insult to our collective intelligence. In fact, I feel dumber for having even looked at this thread. Thanks, by the way, for making me stupider than I already am. .
