nashville weekend recording workshop

hey gearslutters-

I have teamed up with Omni Studios here in Nashville (www.omnisoundstudios.com) to offer a once-a-month recording workshop weekend. This is a result of the frustration I have felt when spending WAY too much time mixing projects for artists that have recorded themselves, simply because their recording techniques are sub-par. Sadly, I turned down several mix projects last year because the recordings were so bad I couldn't do anything with them. I really hate that!

So, Omni and I decided to host a once-a-month recording workshop that will cover basic and advanced mic techniques, compression, eq, and file management do's and don'ts. We'll also take time to talk about the pitfalls to watch out for while recording, answer questions about what's the best equipment for the dollar these days, discuss time saving tips and tricks, let you know what mix engineers look for in quality tracks- and what mistakes can end up costing you more money down the line.

We did our first, small scale workshop this past week, and it was a smashing success. One of the attendee's came all the way from Brazil! The next workshop is scheduled for April, will be limited to 10 people, and will consist of two 8 hour days in studio A at Omni. A complimentary lunch will be served both days, and the cost is $600 per person.

Let me know if you have any questions/comments. This is on a first come, first served basis. We will not hold spots without a 50% deposit- you know, all the standard fare associated with booking studio time.
