Snare sample with that Terry Date snappy sound

Hi,

I'm looking for .wav (or .aif) sound samples of snare which have a snappy sounds with an nice body and a in ur face mid-high end.
Kind of snares u can hear in Deftones - Around the fur, Incubus - Science, ... albums

I've compressed my recorded snare to make it more snappy, and it works, but i'm still not totally satisfied of the result. It always lake that mid-high end snappy sound.
I also tried to put a BBE sonic maximizer on the snare : the result is that i've got a lil more high end but it make my snare sound less snappy.
So I'm looking for good snare sample to mix with the natural recorded snare.
I looked at sample included in Battery 2, but none has the snappy sound i'm looking for.

So if someone has that kind of samples and could share them, i'll be very glad

Greetzzz

The intro to My Own Summer on Around the Fur has a snare that can be sampled in it...I'd just grab that one.

i already grabbed it.

but when I play the snare grabbed, i hear a weird bass resonance. it doen't seems to be the body of the snare. I tried it on a mix, and it sounded weird (perhaps it's because the sample is too short)

Well, nothing beats making your own samples with the same drum/drummer/room/etc.., but I would also look into Drum Kit from Hell libraries, which offer alot of choices - not sure if any match up perfectly with what you are going for. Here's the link to the original version, with some examples: DFH

There is also a decent free kit called "NSKit 7", I couldn't find the link though...

Good luck...

Have you tried mic'ing the bottom of the snare?

That'll probably do it for ya.

How funny.... I've been learning to play the drum intro to "Digital Bath" from White Pony (I'm not a drummer).

The first hit is an empty snare. Kinda 'verby though....

I love Abe's drum sound.
