King Kong vs. Godzilla

What about Rodan, Kronos, Gorga, Mothra, and the Blob?

You know what I mean?

well it depends.
kong is more modern and hi fi. could take godzilla in the city jumping around on buildings.

i think of godzilla as more vintige and more character. i think godzilla should win out in the country side.

ymmv

Godzilla for sure!

King Kong was the size of a T-Rex. Godzilla was about 10 times that size.

plus he/she had that fire breathing thing going on!

Godzilla had variable height. He was as tall as a 10 story building in one shot and as tall as a 50 story building in another, depending on what props they had available

Bear in mind that a handful of biplanes took out King Kong with machine guns. Godzilla took on the best a squadron of modern fighter jets could dish out and kept on ticking.

I think Rodan was the baddest of them all. Plus, I love "The Thinker"

How could I have forgotten the 50 Foot Woman?!?

Okay, then, how about all the male monsters against the distaff ones? I'm pretty sure Mothra was female, since seems to me she popped out some chrysali at one point. So we could have the 50 ft Woman and Mothra against Rodan, Godzilla, and King Kong...

One thing I definitely agree on -- Godzilla is the obvious choice for country. As pointed out e's got that vintage vibe and he's, you know, big. If not necessarily well-defined.

Well... I'm not saying it is... and I'm not saying it isn't... but let's just say he did a monster version of Wild Night at a little club I can't mention the name of late one night... backed up by a chorus of little Japanese kids...

He was real cute with the kids... but he did pluck a couple of adults out of the front row for a quick snack... so, yeah, chances are, you're right.

Which godzilla versus which Kong? Modern Kong versus Godzilla(1998) would be interesting, but I would still have to root for godzilla.... however Modern kong would destroy rubber suited 60's Godzilla... either way, Cthulu would consume them all...

If you are into Godzilla kinda vibe and don't want to spend as much $$$, try shopping for Mechagodzilla on eBay. It is a solid state/ discrete version of Godzilla, and while it doesn't quite have an organic low end of the original, its faster transient response makes it easier to cut through a wall of modern triple rectifiers.

I'm not sure about the 50ft woman. I mean, if she is how old I think she is now, and still dressed like that, it can be a sign that she is a high maintenance one.
