Splitting guitar signal

So I've bought a Radial Re-amp box and I have an old DI box that I use to split the signal so I can re-amp later if necessary. I have not had to use the direct track yet, thankfully. In case I do, is this the best way to get a clean direct signal? Any other ideas or gear reccomendations?

Thanks.

The best would've been to plop the extra 400 for the 7 channel Radial box so you could record 7 amps and a direct signal in one take... but....

Depends on your rig. I use whatever mic pre has the best DI and lay it down. I run (RME totalmix, no latency) the direct track right out to my Reamp to the amp and record that way all the time. The amp is being played live, and I record that, but it's actually always a reamped signal in the end because of the way I run it.

Ideally, we'd both have the JD7 or whatever it's called.
