Confused between Mackie MR5 vs. Mackie MR8 vs. Yamaha MSP5

How about Behringer 2031's or 2030's?

From my experience, all of the monitors you've listed sounded worse than the 2031's that I own.

Thanks for your reply.....I am sure the Behringer's will be good sound wise have read a lot of good reviews.....but apprehensive to consider them due to their build quality..... yeah having said that about the Behringer's I have no experience with the brand.....

Have you tried the Mackie MR8's....they sounded bad to you.....??????

I would go for the MSP5. I owen them and a very happy camper. Do a search here on GS. You have to learn them as any monitor, so be ready to do that. I have a friend who has the Adam A7x and we both agree that apart from more bass on the A7 (bigger cone), the difference is not much, maybe a better stereo field on the A7 and thats about it. I must add that both these monitors (A7/MSP5) are on the flat side of the monitor world! There are other monitors that are not so flat, which is not the case of these two. The quality, as in most if not all of Yamaha products is great, the MSP5 is a "tank" its self. Sound wise It´s mid-high with clear definition, the bass section is a bit weak but well enough to mix with, unless you have a big control room. Plenty of power for such a small monitor, this thing will "spit" air at you if you dont watch out.

As said, if you want a fancy sounding monitor look else where, if you want "flat" mid sounding monitor, go MSP5. Good luck!

I heard the MSP5 .... liked them .... great to have a +1 for the MSP5 .... yes have to learn them ....

Any idea about the Behringer B3031's and the Behringer B2031's .... quality wise ....

And what about the Mackie MR8's ....

I would recommend going to a local music store and listen to the strengths and weaknesses of monitors and choose accordingly

I have heard the monitors the Mackie MR5, Mackie MR8, the Yamaha MSP5 and the Behringer B3031's and the Behringer B2031's .... I liked the Mackie MR 8's the MSP5's and just heard the Behringer B3031's and the Behringer B2031's .... liked the B3031's too ....
