How does this stack up..?

This is my new ADDA solution and was wondering if anyone has a similar setup. How does it work for you?

I have been after an Apogee Rosetta200 for some time and finally got the cash together. So now I need to hook it into the PC which I have decided to do via SPDIF.

I decided I need a relatively good/cheap/RELIABLE audio interface with a SDPIF connection. Driver performance is the issue here.

So Layla3G synced to Apogee and feeding via SPDIF.

I like the sound of this.. 8 audio outs + 2 "high-end" channels for mixdown

I am moving up from an E-MU 1820M and toyed with idea of using that to feed the Rosetta, but EMU driver performance has always been a bit crap, so the more juice I can get with my current system the better.

Not really interested in Layla's pre-amps, but I used to have a MIA way back and the drivers there were pretty rock solid.

Any thoughts? I want to keep the audio interface as cheap as possible so no RME.. or Firewire...

Actually, I did consider the Yamaha i88x but... firewire > SPDIF .. sounds like a bit of a treck if you ask me. Would there be latency/performance issues with that setup.
