Thread Starter | FMR RNP line-out vs. Focusrite Twintrak digital out
I saw this thread (http://gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php3?t=28062) and it seems like most people generally prefer the RNP to the Twintrak. The twist for me is that I was able to get a Twintrak with the A/D Converter option for $430 total. I'm now kind of attached to the idea of not having to go through my M-Audio Solo's A/D converters, but if I switched over to the RNP I really wouldn't be able to afford a separate A/D converter for it. So my question is basically: What would be better, the Twintrak with a spdif output, or an FMR RNP ran through my M-Audio Solo? Thanks for your help! |

So that seems like the obvious choice. Additionally, the AD conversion between the the M-Audio and Twintrak is very likely to be in the same league. So no loss using the M-Audio. Get the RNC...and for the money ($430) you can get TWO!!! OR One RNC and one RNLA. The RNLA is really a very sweet unit. Regards, David

Thanks for your response David, but i'm comparing the FMR RNP to the Twintrak (not the RNC). That is useful to know that the a/d converters in the M-Audio Firewire Solo would be comparable to the a/d converters for the Focusrite though.

Hmm...i'm pretty sure you were talking about the RNC, since the FMR RNP Preamp goes for about $450-500, and you were saying I could get two for $430. Thanks for your help though, i'm definitely leaning towards getting the FMR.

Roger that. I think I mixed myself up between a few similar posts I was responding to here and on the EA forums. Cheers, David
