Mbox 2 Convertors vs Mbox, 002, Maudio?

Just wondering if there are any reviews yet on the MBOX2 converters compared to older units!

I know it's somewhat crippleware compared to other programs (surround, video support, limited tracks)....USB 1.1 on new Mbox.

But am curious as to how well the MBOX2 AD/DA sound and if the maudio project mix uses the old Maudio 1814 preamps......

Thanks

From what I hear, MBOX2 isnt using the focusrite converters anymore, so the sound might be suffering a lil compared to the original mbox. I'm not completely certain on this. Im sellin my mbox if your are interested.

Could be wrong but thought I read some arguements that MBOX2 didn't sound as good as MBOX1 or that MBOX2 sounded better than 002. Sort of like depending on which forum you go do you get mixed results...

Having toured around the BB's, I can tell you that a great deal of the opinion floating around is oft-repeated and little-tested.

from personal experience, MBOX2 sounds better. Ive compared 1&2 side by side, and mbox 2 definitely has a sonic advantage. i havent been able to compare mbox2 to digi002, but its on my to do list.

ill let you know.
