Thread Starter | Recommend a 2 channel mixer w/ XLR outs
Trying to send a stereo RCA signal to my new Genelecs, which take XLR input. Anybody know of a simple two channel mixer to recommend? For monitoring only.

That seems a little funky, no? RCA being unbalanced and XLR being balanced... It would also be nice to have something with volume adjustment going out to my monitors. |

well if you're gonna but it through a mixer you're gonna be degrading the sound and could add noise. Not alot but it will be there, and since you're taking an unbalanced line INTO the mixer, you have a hole anyways so unless you're thinking about pulling it longer than 15' i think you're fine.

What about instead of a mixer I send the apogee into this: Applied Research & Technology: ARTcessories™ ...which should interface my unbalanced equipment (apogee heaphone out->RCA) into my balanced equipment (Genelec XLR ins). And I can attenuate volume via the apogee. Should be pretty clean, right? I just want to make sure its the appropriate signal level and I'm not sending something too hot into the cleanbox or to the monitors. |
