Which of these monitors would you rather have and why?

I'd rather have the Mackies because I don't want to go back to the shop and buy more.

I had a to choose between the two as well. I ended up going with the Mackies strictly for I had a hard time finding a bad review on them. I think with the MR5's you get a little bit more then what you pay for. After I do mixes at my house I find my final bounce translates well to my car stereo, home theater and different monitors at my school. Lastly I was pretty impressed with the bass response on them... I would recommend them to people starting small home studios.

I chose the MR5s over the Rokits. They just seemed clearer when I played mixes I knew. The Rokits just seemed muffled.
