Senheiser HD280's are really good. They're $100. But there's this really good company I use in FL that sells them for $53 +shipping. SELDD SENNHEISER HD280 HD-280 HEADPHONES WITH /WARRANTY - eBay (item 180490806493 end time May-06-10 13:37:48 PDT) |

what you using them for? do you prefer on-ear, over ear? i think i paid about $50 for some Grado headphones that I use with my ipod. they're not flashy, rather plain, not advertised well, but the response is rather flat and true. i also have some sennheisers, but they're more money, altho i'm sure they make something for ~$50.

| Dude, I got a pretty decent pair of sennheiser hd280s for 50 dollars used off craigslist. These headphones are worth it, and will sound better than almost all 50 or sub headphones that you might find new out there. Good luck. |

Personally...I think the iGrado's are a great value. No, they are not the best headphones out there, but for $50 (new), they sound great. I believe they have the same motor / transducer as the (Grado) SR-60's. However, if memory serves, they are (possibly) open-back, so otehrs close by can hear when you are listening. It's been a while since I used them - they are my girlfriend's. Anyway, I would most assuredly check them out for the dough.

Those Stanton DJ Pro 60's look nice. Found a new pair on ebay for $50 w/ shipping. Anyone know if these are any good for studio recording/mixing as well as DJ'ing? I won't be doing any recording with microphones so background noise isn't a factor. |

Here is answer to your question in terms of sound quality, and EXACTLY at your price range. (HIGHLY spoken of in audio world, despite the price) Equation Audio RP-15MC Foldable Reference Headphones I have a more expensive RP-21 for ~$100 |

What about Sennheiser HD-202's? Even though their pretty cheap, around $20-$25, they get 5 stars on every review, every site, over thousands reviewed. They seem to be made for ipods and such so maybe the ppl reviewing are so used to earbuds anything would sound good. idk, alot of the pairs in the $40-$50 range all get mixed reviews. | |
